For more than a decade I’ve been working at reducing my own sources of inflammation in hopes to prevent the development of an autoimmune disease. You see, autoimmune diseases are found in my family for over 3 known generations in both men and women. For those unaware, autoimmune diseases affect women almost 80% more than they do men. I’m currently about a year out from when my own mother and one of her sisters were first diagnosed with their respective autoimmune diseases. It’s a time point that has been in the back of my mind as I make these changes for myself and my family.
