12 Steps to Crushing Your Goals

We all have big dreams for ourselves. With summer just around the corner, I suspect many of you are starting to think about your summer body. Two big things that go along with that – diet and exercise. Those are fantastic ways to improve your health and wellness, but it doesn’t do much if you don’t have a way to actually achieve that summer body outside of dieting and exercising. With that, I want to introduce you to Kayla Brissi, marketing strategist. If you have a goal, she has a strategy to help you achieve it. Here are her 12 Steps to Crushing Your Goals.

Do you struggle with achieving your goals?

Does it seem like no matter how much you dream and plan you still fall short month after month?

Listen, I get it. Setting goals are one thing and then working hard to achieve them is another. Sometimes you’ll get so close that you can almost taste the sweet victory and other times you’ll fall flat on your face in pursuit of your goals.

What if you could crush your goals almost effortlessly each month, would you be intrigued?


Benjamin Franklin said, “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.”


I 100% believe in this quote. I have worked with hundreds of women over the years both as a manager while working a “9-5” gig and as an entrepreneur in various roles. One thing I know for sure is that those that fail to plan always seem to fail.

Could someone have some dumb luck without a strategy? Absolutely! But that luck isn’t sustainable. It’s a one-time thing that’s unrepeatable, which is why I want to share with you my foolproof strategy to crushing your goals consistently with less stress and overwhelm.

Now, the beauty of this strategy is it works well for any time frame! Therefore, if you prefer to focus on weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even yearly goals, it doesn’t matter. You can use this framework to create a strategy for successfully achieving your goals on a consistent basis. How awesome is that?

Alright, let’s dive right in and create a strategy for crushing your goals!


12 Steps to Crushing Your Goals:


  1. Brain dump all of your goals you would like to achieve for the time frame you would like to work within.
    • Expert Tip: Focus on 90-days.
      • If you would like to set goals for a year and work backwards to focus on (4) 90-day increments that’s totally fine. Our brains don’t have the capacity to focus past 90-days which is why this time frame is recommended.
  1. Review your goals and determine which is the #1 goal you would like to achieve.
  2. Explore to understand the deeper meaning or why behind achieving this goal.
    • Journal these questions to find clarity:
      • Why do I want to achieve this goal?
      • Why is the goal important to me?
      • What does this goal give me?
      • How will it feel to achieve the goal?
  1. Create a focus word for the goal and break it down.
    • Example: If your focus work is health you could break your 90-day goal into these monthly focused themes:
      • Self-Care
      • Nutrition
      • Fitness
  1. Reverse engineer the goal to determine the actions needed to achieve the goal.
    • Write down tasks required to achieve the goal.
    • Reverse engineer the numbers (if applicable).
    • Decide on a completion date for accountability.
  1. Break down goal into weekly and daily tasks to achieve the goal.
  2. Create a schedule and block off time to work on the tasks to achieve the goal.
  3. Determine any obstacles that may present themselves while working to achieve the goal.
  4. Determine who can help you in other areas of your life or business to alleviate any burden and support you while you work to achieve your goal.
  5. Visualize achieving the goal and feel into it.
    • Close your eyes.
    • Take a few deep breaths.
    • Create a movie in your mind by imagining that you achieved your goal
      • The goal is to see, feel, and believe it.
      • Write it down in a journal after you visualize it to lock in the movie and note the feelings associated with the visualization.
      • Hang your mind movie up in your home/office (optional).
      • Refer back to your visualization movie at minimum daily.
  1. Take massive action in pursuit of your dreams.
  2. Track milestones, big or small, because we love them all and celebrate!


As you can see, goal setting doesn’t have to be difficult. And you don’t have to feel ashamed either because lots of people around the globe are missing key factors to creating a goal setting strategy that works. Since strategy is my jam, they come easy to me and it brings me great joy when I can pass on my creative strategies to others to eliminate the overwhelm and provide some clarity.

You have the power to achieve your goals. With a little bit of strategy, perseverance, and the right mindset, you can crush any goal you put your mind too!
